Dan has written many articles for Power Source Magazine and was nominated by the ICM for the Pioneer Award in 2007 and 2008 and received the prestigious award in 2010.
Daniel was in his early years as a musician when he began feeling a tug at his heart. He was the first member of the Last Light Band to commit his life and his music to Jesus. Daniel’s mother had diligently prayed that her son would spend his life serving God. Then one night, while playing in what Dan calls a “honky tonk”, God spoke to him and told him it was time to “get out”, and he’s been out since, except for the many times God has sent him back to deliver a message of hope to those left behind.
Over 30 years ago he met and married the love of his life, Tonya Lynn, and shortly thereafter was blessed to have his best friend, Scott McLeod become a Christian and dedicate both his life and Music to Christ. Many bands come and go, but God had a plan for the Last Light Band and their music and their commitment to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ has stood the test of time.

Tonya Lynn
Tonya Lynn was born in Mobile, Alabama and some of her earliest memories were standing in front of her mirror singing into her hairbrush. Now that’s something that many of us do, but few do it as well as Tonya.
She just knew from an early age “she was born to sing!”. She began singing in nightclubs long before she was old enough to get in. It didn’t matter where or when, she just wanted to sing. In 1979, she met her husband Dan and her life took a drastic turn. Tonya was the mother of a six year old, and nightclub life and being a single mom didn’t mix well. Dan had recently walked away from a life in clubs to live for God and use his music to promote the gospel. God revealed His plan to Dan and just a few months later he and Tonya were married and singing new songs.

Scott McLeod
Words from one of Scott’s early songs: “Heard that lonesome whistle blow, Called my name a long time ago, I left home running when I was just a boy”… and running became the mantra of Scott McLeod’s life. He knew there was something “out there” and that he had to find it. Isn’t that, of course, what so many great songs are made of? And though it makes for heartfelt lyrics, it also makes for a lonely life. A lyric in that same song says “I just wound up playing in some smoky old bar”. Who could say it better than Scott himself? Although Scott later became a husband, father, and successful businessman, those things fell into place only after he found what he’d spent his life searching for; a relationship with his creator. Scott plays lead guitar, mandolin, steel guitar and sings. He continues as an accomplished songwriter
God had a plan for these lives and the untold lives of those that would be forever changed by their music.
