About The Last Light Band
In the late 1970s, a plan began to play out in the lives of three very talented musicians from Mobile, AL. It began with Daniel Alan and Scott McLeod As they lived a laid back life on the beaches of the Gulf Coast. They were moving in the direction of a dream, but had no idea where it would take them. In 1979, Daniel walked into a nightclub and heard the voice of Tonya Lynn, the voice that he says is still the best singer he’s ever heard. This was just one more step in the direction of the dream, a dream that was much bigger than any of them. This was from the heart of God and it was only the beginning. In October of that year Daniel Alan and Tonya Lynn were married in a little white church, and their lives not only became a witness, but their stories became songs. 1n 1981 the Last Light Band was formed. The name was chosen because its members believed they could be the last light some may ever see. From the bars to the church, and on to festivals and music events across the nation, the Last Light Band has a rich heritage of music flavor that is reflected in their CDs and live video recording projects. The Last Light Band is the most award winning trio in the history of Inspirational Country Music.
The Last Light Band Shares Their Beliefs
As our name indicates, we are called to be a light in a dark world. We believe our specific mission is to pray, receive our direction from God, then carry out that direction with excellence, to the best of our ability. We also believe that we are not limited to our natural abilities, but that God enables us to do the supernatural. God has given us a revelation that music has the ability to go forth as a seed, carrying the DNA of God and that it’s not our job to appeal to emotions, or convince others with our words, but to use our faith that the “life” in our music will find good ground in the heart and not return void, but accomplish that which He pleases, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto He sent it.
Doctrinal Statement
Purpose of Statement.
Our doctrinal statement is not a "creed." In a sense, the whole Bible is our creed. We recognize the existence of many differences of interpretation among genuine Christians. But we want to affirm the basic beliefs that unite our group and make it possible. Also, to avoid a vagueness which might result in a misunderstanding in places we are invited to minister, certain essential Biblical doctrines should be clearly stated so we can work as one.
